A friend of mine found this lying around on someone's Friendster(!) a while ago and I've meant to put it up since. Primary One Yellow, PGGMB. Do you recognise anyone from the photo? hehehe 

Here are some photos of the Crumpler 6 Million Dollar bag (in red) and the 7 Million Dollar bag (in light purple). I know the bag looks more blue than purple but that's what it says on the tag. The 7 Million Dollar bag is big enough to carry a 13" notebook, DSLR body and 2-3 lenses. The 6 million dollar version can fit a camera body, 3 lenses and a flash. I really should take pics of the interior and what they can fit so you can see for yourself. At SGD144 and SGD154 each they're definitely worth it, very good especially if you wouldn't settle for the ordinary camera bag 

Galuk (gaa-look) : Glass jug

Standard Malay: bekas untuk mengisi air yang diperbuat daripada kaca; jag

Example use of word:
Isihi tah aing sajuk dalam galuk atu lagi eh, karing masih leher bisdurang ani.
= Fill up the jug with more iced water, they're still thirsty. 

Kiut, Terkiut-kiut (kee-yoot, ter-kee-yoot-kee-yoot) : swaying of hips/rear end while walking

Standard Malay: lenggang ke kiri ke kanan punggung semasa berjalan

Example use of word:
Adang tah belenggang bejalan atu, tu abis orang teland meliat kamu terkiut-kiut dari belakang ah!
= Will you guys hurry up and walk faster, those men are leering at your bums swaying from behind!




Note: So if you ever encounter anyone saying that to you, jgn perasan that they're saying you're cute ah hehehe

Ambutit (aam-boo-tit) : tadpole

Standard Malay: anak katak

Example use of word:
Ku liat banyak usulnya ambutit dalam kulam ikan depan rumah tani atu.
= I saw alot of tadpoles in the fish pond infront of our house.

Nuhun (noo-hoon) : to leave a place

Standard Malay: bertolak meninggalkan sesuatu tempat

I'm not quite sure how to use the word but I think this is about right:
Kan nuhun ku dulu, akhir sudah.
= It's getting late, I'm going to leaving now.



Also,
Nuhun Napsu (noo-hoon naap-soo): lose appetite

Standard Malay: hilang selera

Example use of word:
Eh batah jua makanan nya ani kan sampai, nuhun napsuku!
= The food is taking forever to arrive, I've lost my appetite!

Marak (Maa-raak) :
(1) wide open (eyes),
(2) to turn on (light)

Standard Malay:
(1) membesarkan mata
(2) menyalakan lampu / api

Example use of word:
Adang tah meliat ia atu, marak banar mata mu.
=Stop staring at him, your eyes are as big as saucers.

Inda bekaran kah rumah mu ani, inda mau marak lampung ah.
=Is there a power outage, I can't switch on the light.

Luroi (loo-ruuy) : pale / sickly appearance

Standard Malay: kelihatan lemah dan pucat kerana kurang sihat

Example use of word:
Baiktah ko balik eh, luroi usulmu, rawan ating ku meliat.
= You better go home and rest, you look worringly pale and unwell.

Kunyanyang (koo-nya-nyang) : chit-chatting

Standard Malay: bercakap-cakap kosong

Example use of word:
Adang tah bekunyanyang ani eh, omok mu alum siap!
= Stop chit-chatting, you still haven't finished your homework!

Urap (oo-raap) : massage or rub (oil/ointment into body)

Standard Malay: sapu (minyak kepada anggota badan)

Example use of word:
Batuk ko masih? Baiktah ko urapkan viks arah dada mu atu sebelum ko tidur karang.
= Are you still coughing? You should rub vicks into your chest before you go to sleep later.

Tekaduhung (taa-kaa-doo-hoong) : to do something while coincidentally at a place / in a situation

Standard Malay:  secara kebetulan (berada di sesuatu tempat dan keadaan) dilanjurkan melakukan sesuatu

Example use of word:
Tekaduhung kitani kemari ani baiktah tarus makan saja sini.
= Since we're here, we might as well have lunch here too.

Naham (Naa-ham) : damp

Standard Malay: keadaan lembap dan berbau tidak sedap kerana diresapi air (pakaian, alas kaki dll).

Example use of word:
Cuba cium kan baju ani, macam bau naham ada jua.
=Can you smell this top, it smells rather damp doesn't it?

I've been quite addicted to YouTube lately. It has filled my many sleepless nights and is ranked quite high in my list of fav sites, coming after google and multiply hehe They have looooooooads of videos up there but this particular one I just had to share. Very funny especially for those football players/lovers out there. I love the one where the guy accidentally kicks the ball into the ref's face hahaha

Rista (rees-taa) : mention / remind

Standard Malay equivalent: mengenang / mengingatkan

Example use of word:
Eh jadikah ia ani membawa meliat wayang karang... nada ia merista tadi.
= Is he still taking us to watch the movie later... he didn't mention it earlier.

Pajak (Paa-jaak) : buy/take in bulk

Standard Malay equivalent: borong

Example use of word:
Eh banar-banar jua orang atu membeli kain, macam semua kan dipajaknya.
= That person is getting alot of material, it looks like she's taking everything.

Mun (moon) : If

Standard Malay equivalent: jika, kalau

Example use of word:
Mun inda jadi blayar, kau bali saja camera yang di wahu atu.
= If the trip is cancelled, just get the camera from Hua Ho.

Kabir (kaa-beer) : cope

Standard Malay equivalent: terdaya, berupaya

Example use of word:
Sibuk saja ku dua minggu ani, ada saja kan ku buat. Sampai inda ku tekabir kan membuat perkataan hari-hari ani.
= I've been busy the last two weeks, there's just been too many things to do. I couldn't cope with the word of the day updates.

Karup-karup (kaa-roop-kaa-roop) : crunchy

Standard Malay equivalent: ranggup

Example use of word:
Nyaman kropok arah rumah si Heng atu, karup-karup.
=The crackers at Heng's house is really good and crunchy.

Padah (paa-dah) : tell

Standard Malay equivalent: beritahu

Example use of word:
Padahkan arah bapamu si Heng kan besanding hari minggu ani.
=Tell your father that Heng is getting married this Sunday.

Today's word has certainly caused quite a contraversy amongst my circle. Sampai ada yang menyamal and promised to "have the last laugh" Well, go ahead, have your last laugh, I looked it up and you're right missy! It does mean both things but it also means another thing, though I'm not quite sure how to use it in a sentence.



Babal (baa-baal) :
(1) daft, slow
(2) used to describe cute kids
(3) constipated

Standard Malay equivalent:
(1) bodoh
(2) comel
(3) sukar membuang air besar

Example use of word:
(1) Babal banar jua ia ani eh, dari tadi sudah ku memberitau inda jua ia merati!
= He's bloody slow! I've been trying to explain it to him for a while now, he still doesn't get it.

(2) Eeeeee babal jua anak mu ani, kan ku gigit pipinya!
= Your baby's so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute, i feel like biting her cheek!
